Amenities

Entertainment, educational sessions, and other activities of interest are offered periodically throughout the year. Check the calendar of events regularly for up to date information. Choose to participate in a specific event, or just stop by for relaxation, conversation, or information. A friendly atmosphere is what we strive to achieve.

Newsletters are available upon request. You can view the newsletter online stop by the senior center to pick one up or call and leave your address to be added to the mailing list.

Activity Committee Meeting
Open to anyone interested in assisting to host activities or plan events. Coming events are discussed and volunteer opportunities discussed as well as program ideas/suggestions. This committee generally meets the second Thursday of the month from 1:15 - 2:15 p.m.

Adult Outings and Tours
A variety of partners are utilized to bring you trip choices for 1 day, extended trips, and airfare packages. See newsletter for the most current trips, view them online, or call for details or an itinerary.

Birthday Party and Bingo
We honor our birthday celebrants each month, on the last Wednesday of the month. The entertainment begins at 11 a.m., lunch is available at Noon for a suggested donation of $4, and Birthday Prize Bingo is led by a community volunteer organization from 1-1:45 p.m.

Ice Skating
Held during the school season except when school students are on break, ice skating is offered at Fogerty Arena at no charge on Wednesday mornings from 9:30 - 11 a.m. September through May.

Novel Nook
Check out the current read for the month at the Senior Center, then join the discussion at 11 a.m., generally the last Friday of the month.

Senior Bowling
Blainbrook Bowl in Blaine offers bowling at a discounted rate for seniors on Mondays and Fridays at 1 p.m. No advanced registration is needed; teams are formed voluntarily on site at the time of the event. Cost is $4.50 for 4 games. Shoe rental is free!

Senior Center Advisory Council
Interested parties can apply in December to sit on the Advisory Council to discuss and review programs and services for the senior citizens of Blaine. Terms are 2 years and may be repeated. The Blaine City Council approves appointments to the Advisory Council.
