  • Application (PDF)
  • Plan should include:
    • Floor Plan
    • Cross section and elevations
    • Garage size 
    • Location and window size and door openings
    • Size of headers over all window and door openings
    • Size, spacing and direction of rafters or trusses
    • Rafter/truss connection method
    • Size and spacing of studs
    • Grade and species of lumber to be used
    • Type of roof and wall sheathing used
    • Information on siding and roofing and any other pertinent information
  • Survey

How to Submit a Permit Application and Required Information

Fee & Permit Process

The garage permit is a valuation based fee, see Fee Schedule.

  • Review time is 5 to 7 business days.  During the busy construction months longer delays may occur.
  • Once your plan has been reviewed you will be contacted to come pickup and pay for your permit.
  • When your permit has been paid for and you have the approved plans, you may start your work and schedule inspections. 
  • When scheduling Inspections please plan at least 2 business days out.  During the busy construction months longer delays may occur. 

General Information

  • Soil corrections must be designed by a licensed professional engineer, or provide an engineer's soils report to verify minimum bearing capacity of 1,500 PSF prior to issuance of the permit.
