The City of Blaine has contracted with Critical Connections Ecological Services, Inc. to finish the tree removal project at the Blaine Wetland Sanctuary at 11980 Lexington Ave NE.
This project is part of the wetland restoration work that started in the winter of 2016-2017 that includes the removal of non-native tree species as well as diseased and dead trees.
Trees identified for removal on the city’s property, will be marked on Feb. 28 and March 1. Additionally, a haul road will be plowed from the maintenance access on Naples Circle NE for crews to access the site.
Tree removals will start on Monday, March 4. This project is expected to be completed on March 14, weather permitting. The crews will be working Monday through Friday during the hours of 7AM and 7PM. All work is weather dependent, so the start and end dates may change.
