The City of Blaine is responsible for billing of water, sewer, and garbage service to homes and commercial properties in the City of Blaine. Bills are sent quarterly to residential customers and monthly to commercial companies for the previous months’ services. All bills are due on the last day of the month. Any payments not received by the due date will result in a 10 percent late payment penalty. Any accounts that become delinquent are certified to the county for collection with the property taxes.
Customers can expect higher bills in the summer months due to lawn watering. Please keep in mind that the City of Blaine does have sprinkling restrictions in place each year. Following the restrictions can not only help conserve water but it will also save you money on your utility bill. Learn more about the sprinkling restrictions at BlaineMN.gov/LawnSprinkling.
The City is currently experiencing a shortage of radio transmitters for utility meters due to supply chain shortages. In some cases the City is requesting that residents report their meter reading to the City. If this is needed for your property you will receive a mailed notice from the City. The City recently took delivery of additional radio transmitters and will be installing them as soon as possible.
Utility rates are reviewed annually and approved by the Blaine City Council as a part of the annual City budget. You can view current rates at BlaineMN.gov/UtilityRates.
If you ever have questions about your bill or the amount that you are being charged for utility services please contact the Utility Billing Department at 763-785-6141 or [email protected].
