The City of Blaine’s Finance Department is not exactly the most well known department in town, but their work is critical to keeping Blaine running smoothly and efficiently. These financial professionals behind the scenes handle everything from budgeting to accounting to payroll to utility billing to investments and more. All while ensuring that tax dollars are used wisely and effectively.
The Finance Department directs the City’s financial affairs following accepted accounting rules. This department manages money-related tasks like making financial plans, ensuring internal controls, protecting assets, and handling financial transactions. Blaine is one of only a handful of cities to receive a AAA credit rating. This is the highest rating given to government agencies and shows that independent evaluators have determined the City of Blaine to have a strong and stable financial outlook.
