Remembering Officer Steve Nanney

stevenanney-sm-500

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of one of our finest.

Last night, Officer Steve Nanney and his wife Susie were killed in an off duty motorcycle crash with another vehicle. Officer Nanney was a dedicated servant to our Community for over ten years. Most recently he was the School Resource Officer for the last three years at the Blaine High School, a job he loved. He was fortunate to be able to serve, mentor, and impact the youth in our Community. Steve’s wife Susie was an Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota. Susie was dedicated to the dietary health of children in promoting healthy lifestyles for hunger relief and school wellness. Steve was also very active in his work volunteering in multiple capacities for Special Olympics. Their compassion and kindness were well known in our Community.

We are asking for your support for the Nanney family, as well as our family at the Blaine Police Department. This will be a time of grief in our Blaine Community but we know we will get through this with you all together. Thank you.
