Medicare Cards

Medicare sent users new cards starting in the spring of this year. No one from the government will call and ask you to verify your information on the card or otherwise. There is a new eleven digit member number. Your social security number is no longer on the card.

Here is a news story from when the new cards were first announced in 2017.

Package Theft

Package theft continues around the metro. Use an Amazon secure locker or see if you can have the package sent to your place of work, or a neighbor who is home during the day.

Regardless of where you live in the city, there are no neighborhoods that are immune to crime. Only when opportunities are eliminated and targets are hardened, will criminals go elsewhere to do their business.
  • Turn on your outside lights at night.
  • Get to know your neighbors; knowing who lives in the area makes for a more cohesive and observant neighborhood.
  • Report suspicious vehicles and people; this include vehicle makes, models, color and license plates.
  • Close your garage door at night.
  • Remove valuables from your car and lock the doors.

Spam Emails

An excerpt from a spam email received the other day; “Good Evening, there is an urgent offer I would want to bring to your attention privately and I would appreciate your swift response.” Wording like this is always spam message.
