How to donate wisely after a disaster

Is your car ready for winter?

It never fails, when the first snow, sleet, and ice storm hits the metro area, officers see an increase in crashes.
  • Give yourself plenty of time to get to where you're going, slow down and drive with caution.
  • Keep a winter survival kit in your vehicle and a pad of paper, and a pen or pencil.
  • Don't forget to keep a copy of the proof of insurance card as well.
  • Don't crowd snow plows and don't pull in front of a tractor trailer type vehicle and expect them to stop on a dime.
Lastly, when you see flashing lights from squads, tow trucks, fire trucks, or ambulances, move to the next lane over. Give them room to do their job without the fear of being struck by an inattentive driver.
