Identity Theft Follow Up

Click on the link for I.D. theft tips and what to do if it happens.

When was the last time you checked your credit history? Do it soon. Fraud and theft increase during the holiday season, protect your information by being proactive.

Package Thieves

Thieves are making rounds in the metro area. Reports are filtering in from residents who found an empty box on their doorstep, not finding a package when electronically notified it was delivered and from residents who captured video footage of a thief with their doorbell camera. If you have an exterior camera system, put it to work by registering it with the police department.

Amazon has a feature that lets you choose to have your parcel delivered to one of their secure lockers in stores.  Here in Blaine, this service is available at two Cub Foods locations.

Auto Theft Increase

Don’t leave your vehicle unattended when warming up or to “run into the store for just a minute”. Not only is it illegal, but your insurance company may also penalize you for not properly securing it. This includes dropping your kid off at daycare and at the gas pump. Never, ever leave your kids alone in the vehicle when you stop at the store or for any reason, regardless if it's for “just a minute”.

Plan a Sober Ride

Remember to plan sober ride you’ll be consuming adult beverages this holiday season.
